Counselling

Mikki Turner - Counsellor. Registered member of the BACP.

I am a Person-Centered Integrative Therapist driven by my interest in the diverse human experience of ‘life’. Valuable experience gained during my role as a Samaritan and a Bereavement Support Volunteer before becoming a therapist, serve me well to congruently facilitate the exploration of one’s own experiencing.

Daily living can feel extremely challenging on one’s mental and physical health. The impact of stress and distress can result in unspoken, unresolved issues, leading to an overwhelming sense of feeling unheard.

I aspire to offer a safe, confidential, accepting space in which individuals can explore their problems, hopes and fears. I believe the ‘self’, a concept so frequently hidden beneath the concept of ‘other’, when brought into awareness, can improve wellbeing and introduce a renewed outlook on life.
We are all so very different and expectations to articulate thoughts verbally might feel challenging for some clients. I therefore offer the availability of integrating creative interventions to help unlock otherwise suppressed emotions.

I also have experience working as a counsellor for adults with Aspergers (ASD Level 1). I am mindful of the difficulties experienced by individuals on the Autistic Spectrum, particularly, hugely significant daily challenges and hurdles, perhaps barely noticed by the majority of neurotypical individuals.
I offer long or short term therapy at the Natural Health Centre. Please contact me via turnermikki@gmail.com to arrange a no obligation initial consultation.
